The Ultimate 50ft Performance Cruiser?
This X‑Yachts performance cruiser is an exceptionally well‑maintained, highly upgraded example, combining epoxy‑infused construction, carbon reinforcements and the brand’s renowned structural engineering. Her Southern Spars carbon mast was refreshed in 2026, pair with renewed rigging (2024–25) and a strong North Sails inventory, including 3Di Ocean main and jib, to deliver powerful yet easily managed sailing.
On deck she features a teak‑laid cockpit and coachroof, electric transom door with tender garage, retractable bow thruster, serviced Harken winches and a comprehensive sail‑handling package. The upgraded Xp 55 keel bulb and 2021 rudder design provide excellent stability and control short handed.
Below, the interior is beautifully finished with hand‑selected veneers, alcantara upholstery, new forepeak mattress and thoughtful detailing. Systems have been extensively modernised: B&G H5000 electronics (2021), solar and hydrogeneration, new AGM service batteries (2026), and major engine servicing with key components renewed. Coppercoat (2023) and new seacocks (2022) further enhance long‑term reliability.
A rare, turn‑key yacht offering fast, comfortable cruising with the build quality and refinement expected from X‑Yachts.

Owner's Comments.
We bought Tean new in 2012 and set her up for fast, safe, easily handled short handed cruising. She has recently had major servicing and upgrades completed, and is in exceptional condition throughout. She has been cruised, mainly by just the two of us, from Hamble north to Shetland, south to Galicia and most places in-between. She has never been raced.
Tean is a unique Xp 50 with the factory heavier keel bulb and newest generation rudder, giving excellent stability and fast passage making. With the carbon rig, we can get sailing in very light airs and we regularly average 8.5+ knots once the breeze picks up and cracked off a bit. Our prior yacht was 40 foot long and we find the additional 10 foot in length gives a much kinder sea motion.
We have kept sail handling simple and safe with two standard mainsail reefs plus a deep third reef. She has a removable inner forestay and an inner jib can be stowed permanently on the deck with a second set of jib sheets permanently rigged ready for quick deployment. With this, the sail plan is good for 30+ kts of wind without any complicated sail changes. A storm jib can be set on the inner forestay above the inner jib. A dedicated boom preventer line has been added, leading underdeck to the bow ready for deployment downwind. All control lines are led aft. The large bow sail locker has been partitioned and allows the Code 0 or asymmetric spinnaker to be hoisted directly from the locker. For extended cruising, removable bimini mounted solar panels and a Watt&Sea hydrogenerator have met all our electrical needs. She carries 75m of stainless chain for deeper anchorages, and the large aft garage easily stores a deflated 3.4m dinghy, 2 full sized mountain bikes in bike bags and a windsurfer. So lots of space for toys without filling up the cabins.
To keep maintenance simple, she only has one electric winch for the main halyard, no generator or watermaker, and no teak sidedecks. She has always been kept under a full cover when not in use preserving the teak, windows and topsides, and many people assume she is still a new boat.
We have enjoyed 14 years of fast, comfortable short-handed summer cruising as well as having the space to take eight friends away for long weekends or a weeks’ trip. But our priorities have now shifted and Tean is ready for her next adventures with a new owner.
