X-Yachts X49 MkII

X4⁹ MkII – Larger Horizons, Sharper Pure X Character

The X4⁹ MkII represents a confident evolution of the Pure X range, bringing greater stability, comfort and refinement to a proven platform. Updated hull and deck engineering lower the centre of gravity and reduce overall weight which gives the yacht a calmer, more composed feel in a seaway. The cockpit and transom have been reshaped for a sleeker, sportier appearance with longer benches that enhance comfort whether cruising, entertaining or passagemaking. A newly developed rudder provides stronger grip and less drag which translates into a steadier helm and improved control during longer passages.

Forward, the distinctive S bow accommodates a longer integrated bowsprit with a neatly incorporated anchor arm. This supports larger, freer flying downwind sails that lift performance and add balance on reaching angles. Larger hull windows introduce significantly more natural light below deck, and improved opening portlights increase airflow, giving the interior a brighter, more contemporary feel to match the improvements above deck.

Helm Confidence and On Deck Efficiency

On deck, the X4⁹ MkII has been shaped around comfortable, confident handling. The redesigned cockpit provides deeper, longer seating and a more open transom that welcomes guests aboard and improves movement around the boat. Raised coamings and wider foot supports enhance helming positions whether seated during longer legs or standing when manoeuvring under load. The repositioned winches bring sail controls closer to the helm which supports smoother tacks and gybes, even when sailing short handed.

Structural refinements beneath the deck reduce weight and contribute to a noticeably steadier behaviour in stronger breezes. The S bow and extended bowsprit improve sail handling and broaden the range of downwind sail options. As with all yachts in the Pure X range, the MkII uses premium hardware, robust construction techniques and a thoughtful ergonomic approach to create a deck layout that feels both efficient and inviting.
