The R8 is designed with sailors in mind. Its signature low boom, twin aft helm positions and dedicated interior helm bridge strike the perfect balance between true sailing performance and the comfort of a modern luxury vessel. Every detail, from hull structure to interior flow, has been shaped to deliver capability, refinement and ease of handling.
Forward Lounging Area
A forward saloon door provides direct access to the forward cockpit — an inviting and sheltered space ideal for enjoying late evening sun or creating a private retreat. This additional lounging area remains visually connected to the saloon while offering separation when desired.

Owners can personalise the aft area depending on their sailing style. Opt for aft helms for a focused sailing experience or choose comfortable aft benches to create an extended lounging environment. The R8 can also be equipped with a transom lifting platform, integrated crane, or opening side door for tenders and water access.
Upper Deck – Space, Safety, and Comfort
The upper deck offers generous room for helming, manoeuvring, or simply relaxing at anchor. Wide, comfortable steps lead down into both the aft and forward cockpits, ensuring smooth and secure movement throughout the yacht’s exterior areas.

A Wide Open Living Space
The R8 offers an uninterrupted single level living environment from the aft cockpit through the saloon and into the forward cockpit. This creates a true superyacht atmosphere with excellent visibility, abundant natural light, and seamless indoor–outdoor connection.
An interior helm sits at the forward end of the saloon and can remain open as part of the shared space or be closed off for privacy underway.
Five Spacious Cabins
The R8 can accommodate up to twelve adults across its cabin arrangement:
- Two large owner style aft cabins
- Two guest cabins amidships
- A crew or children’s cabin forward on the starboard side
The galley is positioned in the starboard mid section and may be enclosed for crew led service or left open for owner usage. Lockers throughout both hulls provide generous storage.
Full Living Area
The full living environment spans two levels — aft cockpit, saloon, forward cockpit, and both hulls. The crew enjoy dedicated quarters with their own galley facilities and direct access to the bridge, ensuring discreet service and efficient navigation. Despite its scale, the R8 can be comfortably sailed shorthanded thanks to its thoughtful design and modern sail handling systems.

Built from recyclable aluminium and finished with sustainable materials, the R8 follows Vaan’s circular design philosophy. Fully electric propulsion ensures quiet operation, low vibration, and reduced environmental impact.
